Wedding Album, Part Deux! …

The real estate market has been INTENSE to say the least & can you believe it, we HONESTLY just got around to taking down our Christmas TREE this past weekend (embarrassed to say!) & have finally BEGUN filling out our thank you cards…

Needless to say, this team is a bit behind. Still, I hope you enjoy our wedding album as much as we did & even more, glean some vegan celebrating inspiration!…

Our original caterer flaked for part I of our vegan food "elixir suaree", thank GOODNESS for our angel, Melanie Edwards, who came through in the clutch, & hooked us up w/vegan sushi!!

I call this pic, "besos"...

Sooo sad we received very few pics of our insanely good VEGAN FOOD! Even my father was caught going straight for the stationery appetizers! A travesty, no less, that we are sans pics of the PASSED appetizers which included (the best) bruchetta I've ever tasted, mini "cheeseburgers,mini grilled "cheese" paninis, & heirloom tomato truffled martini glass mashed potatoes. Yes folks, this was "cocktail hour" #2, though this was only the beginning...

This would have been sooo magnificent had we been able to use REAL lit candles in the trees...The City of Pasadena shut that down. Fun theme though. Whaddya think?

Michael C's dinner menu? Absolutely, positivelynothing short of DIVINE!! The gods of great taste & good fortune were definitely smiling upon us...& my DEAR INCREDIBLE friend Sue, helped me search through craziness & high water, to get a deal on 80 square gold chargers...:)

BLACK & WHITE MAKES FOR QUITE THE SMART AFFAIR!

Ahhh, as I search through hoards of wedding and reception decor photos, I can’t help but wish I could have 4 or 5 weddings, just to explore all the different fantastic color choices! Back in the world of reality though, my choices are fixed, and they are not black & white. However I’ll leave you (hopefully) inspired with some of the exciting motifs I’d try to recreate were this our color choice. The possibilities are so tempting, I swear if I had a wedding to spare, it would be black & white all the way…

Does Audrey Hepburn not make you want to get married just so you can wear this impossibly cute black & white dress!!??

As we speak, I am trying to figure out WHAT to do w/this fantastically hot dress!

The bottom left white wedding dress w/black sash is so unforgiveably stunning, it makes me want to lose my mind & start all over w/the dress hunt again!!

So, even though black & white aren’t my favorite “real life” colors, something about the combination of these two gems for a wedding/party seems to transform the ordinary to the extraordinary! It was nice to have a whole different reception “in my imagination” with his funky duo. Does it out-class the other popular color combos?? What thinks ye? C

OH HOW I DIG DESSERT BARS!!

Recently, our caterer suggested serving Earth Cafe mini cheesecakes as the dessert for our reception. Believe it or not, I hadn’t even thought of it!! Our desserts are similar to ice-cream cakes, in that they need to be refrigerated to keep their shape over long periods of time (they’re vegan, raw, & I hadn’t thought of them as wedding desserts). Also, I’ve fallen in love with so many traditional wedding cakes I’ve seen & sort of figured them an obligatory part of wedding decor. Well, move over traditional! What about the absolutely irresistible concept of having a dessert bar!? Now that I’ve been turned on to this theme, I may have to adopt a new obsession! I think mini-Earth Cafe cheesecakes, surrounded by other colorful vegan treats will be hot like wow, enough to make even the most SKEPTICAL carnivore sing. Whaddya think!?:

Okay, so a few weeks ago, I didn’t even know what the term “pomander” meant. Today, they’ve become embedded on my radar since, when you’re on a mission to plan a beautiful but BUDGET-friendly wedding, cute DIY options such as this can become an obsession, and a solution! If you’re like me & haven’t heard of pomanders before, or could use some DIY deco inspiration as well, consider yourself schooled:):

So many decisions. Flowers, colors, themes, favors, place cards, menus, invitations, aisle runners, lighting, centerpieces… just to name a few! “Turquoise-y” blue has been my favorite color for quite some time. So, as to have at least somewhat of a starting point, let’s consider decor for “the blue (Tiffany/turquoise/aqua blue) & brown dream wedding”. Hopefully this post will provide some inspiration for divas looking for a fab color-combo, while I try to figure out what sticks for us, as well. :
